Bibra Lake-based contractor Mineral Mining Services has notched $200 million worth of work with Silver Lake Resources at its gold asset in the Goldfields.
The local mining services contractor secured the major load and haul contract from Silver Lake Resources for services at its Mount Monger project, southeast of Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
MMS said the contract award marked a significant milestone for both parties, “signalling the next stage of expansion” for the Mount Monger operation.
The gold miner spruiked expansion plans for its Mount Monger asset earlier this year, namely the commencement of open-pit mining at the Santa Complex within the project.
MMS has mobilised its fleet of excavators and dump trucks, alongside progressing early works and site establishment ahead of the commencement date of April 1.
The operation is expected to reach a peak workforce of 106 employees, operating 48 heavy machines on site.
MMS general manager Josh Conley said his team was committed to fostering a successful and enduring relationship with Silver Lake Resources over the next five years.
It comes amid Silver Lake’s merger with fellow goldminer Red 5, expected to be implemented by June, creating a combined entity with a market cap of about $2.2 billion.
