Meeka Metals has delivered another batch of high-grade gold intercepts from the Turnberry South deposit in its producing Murchison gold project, further reinforcing near-mine resource growth and likely extending the Stage 1 open pit beyond its initial two-year mine life.
Standout results include 8m at 14.79g/t gold from 44m in the best performing hole which features a welcome 2m core going 53.05g/t gold
Drilling along the northeastern and southwestern flanks of the active pit continues to intersect thick, shallow zones of high-grade gold, which is hosted in fractionated dolerite and ultramafic rocks, with mineralisation aligned with north-northeast plunging fold axes and currently remaining open at depth and along strike.
A second hole returned multiple hits, starting with 20m running 3.57g/t gold from 47m, including 2m at 13.25g/t gold and a deeper 10m going 5.01g/t gold from 73m with an included 3m at 14.74g/t gold.
Further south, a third hole intersected 8m at 4.06g/t gold from 58m including 1m assaying 20.87g/t gold, alongside another 4m at 12.50g/t gold from 84m including a 1m sweetener assaying an impressive 46.69g/t gold.
Meeka’s Managing Director Tim Davidson said: “These results continue to strengthen the medium-term open pit production outlook beyond the initial ~2 year Stage 1 mine plan. The high-grades intersected will improve the tenor of the Resource in the areas drilled and will enhance both future production and cash generation.”
The results sit directly along strike from the current open pit and will inform an updated grade control model to support the company’s Stage 2 pit design. With minimal drilling below 100m, significant depth potential remains untapped.
Reverse circulation (RC) drilling also continues across Turnberry’s northern, central, and southern growth targets, while first-pass reconnaissance has begun along a 3km section of the 20km Fairway shear zone between Turnberry and St Anne’s as part of Meeka’s broader strategy to unlock the district-scale potential of its Murchison tenure.
With Turnberry South now firmly in production and high-grade extensions flowing, Meeka is building momentum towards resource and reserve growth and is already investigating plant expansion pathways towards a golden multi-year future at its Murchison project.
