Markets fall to two-year lows

THE Australian share market dropped to the lowest level in more than two and a half years as the fallout from US financial market turmoil continued. At the close, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was down 66.9 points, or 1.39 per cent at 4750.8, its lowest mark since December 27, 2005.
