New South Wales-based logistics software developer WiseTech Global has recruited former iiNet founder Michael Malone to its board.
Mr Malone founded iiNet in 1993 and served as chief executive of the company for the next two decades.
Since leaving iiNet in 2014, he has held several non-executive director roles.
He currently serves on the boards of nbn Australia, Seven West Media and SpeedCast.
Mr Malone said he was looking forward to joining WiseTech Global and continuing his work in the industry.
“The technology industry in Australia is important for our country’s growth and long-term sustainability,” Mr Malone said.
Richard Dammery is also joining the board, with non-executive director experience at organisations including Australia Post.
WiseTech Global chair Andrew Harrison said both Mr Malone and Mr Dammery would be valuable additions to the board, bringing ASX experience, corporate know-how and an understanding of the technology landscape in Australia.
Shares in WiseTech Global closed 1.8 per cent down to $53.11 each at the time of writing.
