Macmahon extends NSW push

Michael Finnegan-led Macmahon Holdings has continued its push into New South Wales, after securing a roadworks-based early works contract.

It’s been a busy week for the company, which prior to Thursday, had booked big contracts in New Zealand and Western Australia.

In its most recent win, valued at $50 million, Macmahon’s wholly owned subsidiary Decmil will provide a series of works in Western Sydney, which is designed to enhance major arterial corridors surrounding the Nancy-Bird Walton international airport and the region’s broader business district.

The works will include widening Mamre Road by 600m to two lanes in each direction, extending Archbold Road by 550m, building a new localised road between Clifton and Salisbury avenues in Kemps Creek, along with rebuilding of the carpark at Bill Anderson Reserve.

“Securing this project with Transport for NSW signifies our commitment to a highly valued client and demonstrates our capability to deliver this important civil infrastructure project for the people of New South Wales,” Mr Finnegan said.

Macmahon shares were down 2 per cent to 99.5 cents, as of 10.16am AWST – although earlier this month, it reached a high of $1.05.
