Kula wraps up WA gold hunt at Marvel Loch

Kula Gold has polished off a diamond drilling program at its Crayfish gold target at its 100 per cent owned Marvel Loch project in the fruitful Southern Cross goldfields in Western Australia, intersecting a trifecta of greenstone and quartz veins in each of the three holes plunged. The company is now set to run its geological interpretation thumb across its latest samples and will look to push its new core to a laboratory for assay analysis.

Kula's latest venture saw it punch out over 360 metres of dirt across the Crayfish target’s regional greenstone belts, which lay claim to some of the largest producing gold mines in the prolific Southern Cross region.

According to the company, the campaign was aimed at unlocking a potential mother lode of the precious yellow metal through a probe of the area’s gold-bearing rocks and structures.

The program also sought to extend previously plunged RC holes by up to 50m and deliver a suite of new data related to the grounds, structural and lithological characteristics from the drill core. Kula says the diamond drilling program will also be focused on testing the potential extension and orientation of anomalous gold intercepts from an RC drilling program that will be used to drive a more refined targeting strategy for future exploration.

Interestingly, the company unveiled a suite of quartz veins and robust silicic alteration through the previous mapping of amphibolite in RC drill chips as part of an earlier piece of work. Both features point to Archean greenstone-hosted gold deposits.

The company’s latest work pattern at its Marvel Loch project follows a series of activity since the company announced it had made a “technical breakthrough” during a review of historical data that lifted a golden curtain on a previously unknown greenstone belt that ran across its ground.

In an ode to the area's immense prospectivity, an eye-watering 15 million ounces of gold have been churned-out to date with an average grade of between 3 to 5 grams per tonne. Notably, much of this was found immediately west of Kula’s Marvel Loch landholdings.

With Kula now eagerly awaiting the assay results from its latest drilling program at Crayfish, the company will be hopeful that its latest piece of business will allow it to tap into the region's prolific gold. If successful, it could be off to the races for Kula in 2022.
