The chairman of Belmont-based sampling equipment manufacturer Essa Australia Ltd, Dudley Kingsnorth, has stepped down from the board in order to pursue other opportunities.
He will remain with the company as a consultant.
Essa completed a $2.5 million initial public offering in 2004 and formed a partnership with Danish company FLSmidth Automation in 2005 for the development of robotic laboratory systems for the minerals industry.

Essa Australia Limited ("Essa") has received notice from Mr. Dudley J Kingsnorth advising of his resignation as a director and chairman of the company to pursue other opportunities.
In departing Mr. Kingsnorth said: "It has been a privilege to work with the dedicated team of people at Essa, who are at the forefront of their industry sector. The fact that they have been able to increase sales by 50% over the past two years in the globally competitive mining services sector is witness to their commitment".
The Company will retain access to his international marketing expertise through a Consultancy Agreement.
Mr. Darryl Stevens, the Managing Director acknowledged the role that Mr. Kingsnorth had played in the transition of Essa from a private company to a publicly listed company on the ASX, wishing him well in his future endeavours.
