The junior miners are urging the Australian Greens not to support the federal government's mining tax.
The minerals resource rent tax is currently being debated in the lower house and the government needs the support of four cross bench MPs, including the Greens' Adam Bandt, to have it passed.
"This legislation is seriously flawed, discriminates against the junior sector," Association of Mining and Exploration chief executive officer Simon Bennison told reporters in Canberra.
Asked if he had an upcoming meeting with either Greens leader Bob Brown or MP Adam Bandt about the issue, Mr Bennison said no.
"Obviously, we'll be pursuing this when the legislation goes up in the Senate next year and that'll be a key focus for us."
