Inner suburbs apartments approvals

A $55 million development in West Leederville and a $27 million development in Mount Lawley have been approved this past week, with more than one hundred residential spaces to be completed in Perth’s north within in the next three years.

Set to commence building in Q2 2020, G Living’s The Flower Markets development will be built on the corner of Rosslyn and Railway Parade in West Leederville.

To be completed by March 2022, the complex will feature 79 apartments, 36 of which will be build-to-rent, as well as 1,100 square meters of commercial and co-working space.

“Our vision seeks to undertake developments which are iconic, highly sought, community focused and provide housing diversity,” said company director Gianpaolo Crugnale.

“We believe that a successful quality project should integrate with its urban landscape through flexible spaces like co-sharing work areas.

“Our vision is not about one singular aspiration but rather relies on many to create integrated communities that include rather than exclude people.”

Meanwhile, Baltinas has been given the green light by the City of Vincent to go ahead with its CHALLIS development.

To be built on Beaufort Street, the development is to include 26 luxury apartments with one to three bedroom offerings, as well as offices, retail and café spaces.

In a statement, Barry Baltinas said the art deco inspired design would draw on surrounding buildings as influence while implementing sustainable and biophilic construction methods.

“This downsizer market is potentially one that will spend most of their daytime hours out and about in the town centre supporting the local economy, so it’s a very exciting project for Mount Lawley and for us,” said Mr Baltinas.

“The calibre of this development will help enrich the local community by activating residential life and the town strip with new bustling retail, cafe and office space, and the inclusion of public art of significant importance.

“Like the European café strips that are buzzing with life at all times, the more residents that live in a town centre the more it adds to an area’s vibrancy.”
