The Victorian developers are intending to revitalise the long-vacant site with a ‘mixed-use redevelopment’.
Victorian developers have bought a one-hectare site in Halls Head for $2.75 million from WA’s Darren Blowes.
VP Halls Head Pty Ltd bought the 96 Leisure Way corner block from Arrowmax Pty Ltd, RP data shows.
Australian Securities and Investments Commission records show Victorian Rade Vujic, owner of construction company Vujic Property Group, is the director of VP Halls Head.
RWC WA director of capital markets Brett Wilkins, who brokered the deal, said the site is intended for a ‘mixed-use redevelopment’.
The previous owner of the Halls Head site, Mr Blowes, had received approval for part of the land to be transformed into a childcare centre.
“This sale reinforces the strong appetite from interstate developers for strategic sites in Western Australia,” Mr Wilkins said.
“Buyers were particularly drawn to the site’s dual appeal, a childcare development already approved for part of the land, and the balance zoned for commercial and residential use.”
RWC said Mr Blowes was happy to see plans for the long-vacant block, that was once home to Castle Fun Park, to be revitalised under the new developers.
Last year, Cape Bouvard Investments sold a nearby site to Sydney’s John Charles Thomas Opferkuch for $2.2 million in a deal also brokered by RWC WA.
Mr Opferkuch had intended to build a childcare centre on the land at 4 Otley Close.
“Halls Head is a highly sought-after suburb in the City of Mandurah, 75 kilometres south of the Perth CBD,” Mr Wilkins said.
“With its well-established residential areas, scenic canal views, and easy access to major arterial roads, it’s easy to see why this area continues to attract both local and interstate interest.
“Land parcels of this size and zoning, especially with partial tenancy in place and flexible redevelopment potential, are rare.
“It’s a significant opportunity that will contribute to the ongoing growth of the Halls Head community.”
