Greatland Gold set for ASX listing by mid-2025
Andrew Forrest-backed gold producer Greatland Gold has progressed its flagged listing on the Australian Securities Exchange, with the company set to be admitted by mid-2025.
Andrew Forrest-backed gold producer Greatland Gold has progressed its flagged listing on the Australian Securities Exchange, with the company set to be admitted by mid-2025.
Greatland Gold today announced it has formally started the process and estimated to lodge its Australian prospectus with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and the ASX by late May.
In its announcement, the company also estimated to have its ASX listing and offer occur in June 2025 and to be admitted to the official list by June 23.
A corporate organisation had also been announced, under which Greatland Gold and its subsidiaries would come under a new Australian-incorporated parent company Greatland Resources Limited.
The change is subject to a UK scheme of arrangement being approved by Greatland Gold shareholders and the UK courts, the company said.
“The company is pleased to announce that that it will file documents with the UK Court today to start the UK Scheme process,” Greatland Gold said in its announcement.
Greatland Gold is already listed on the AIM exchange in London.
The company announced its plan to be listed on the ASX within six months after acquiring the Telfer project, which is one of Australia's largest gold-copper mines.
Greatland Gold acquired the asset from Newmont Corporation and produced 33,882 gold equivalent ounces from the project over the last month of 2024.
"The acquisition of Telfer and Havieron, completed in December 2024, immediately transformed Greatland Gold into a leading Australian gold and copper producer,” Greatland Gold managing director Shaun Day said.
“We enjoyed significant Australian institutional investor support for our equity raising to fund the acquisition, and Greatland Gold continues to see strong engagement and interest from the Australian market.
“This is an excellent time to undertake the reorganisation and listing on the ASX, the world's premier stock exchange for metals and mining companies.”
Mr Day said the ASX listing should enhance the company’s capital markets profile and help increased research coverage and greater institutional ownership to support the liquidity and interest in Greatland Gold shares.
“While we see the ASX listing as important in supporting the continued growth of long-term shareholder value, we remain committed to the AIM market and shareholders will continue to be able to trade Greatland Resources shares on AIM,” he said.
Andrew Forrest’s Wyloo Metals owns 8.45 per cent of Greatland, and Newmont holds about 20 per cent.
Greatland is chaired by Mark Barnaba, who is also deputy chair of Andrew Forrest-led Fortescue.
