Engineering company GRD Minproc has been awarded the definitive feasibility study (DFS) for Norsemont Mining's
Constancia Copper Project in southern Peru.
In announcing the award of the contract, Norsemont Mining said "The Company has selected strong, internationally recognised engineering consultants who will provide solid local and international support."
"We welcome the opportunity to assist Norsemont with the development of this exciting coppermolybdenum-
silver porphyry project in an emerging South American resource province," GRD Limited Chief Executive Cliff Lawrenson said.
"We have an established and growing track record for work in Peru and other South American nations and have established offices in Brazil's Belo Horizonte and more recently in the Chilean capital, Santiago."
Mr Lawrenson said the international network of engineering expertise that made up GRD Minproc was also underlined by the fact that the company's Brisbane office would be leading the GRD Minproc input into the study as well as managing the overall Constancia Project DFS activity.
"Our Brisbane office was established in the second half of 2007 with a core group of professionals with a wealth of diverse engineering experience and this important study will help to underpin further growth and development of our Brisbane office," Mr Lawrenson said.
