Fairfax Media will scrap the print edition of BRW magazine from the end of November as it moves away from its traditional print-based mastheads and bolsters its online business.
In an email to Fairfax staff, group director of business media Sean Aylmer said the final edition of BRW would be printed on November 28.
Fairfax will retain the BRW website and the popular BRW 200 Rich List as part of its business media unit and Australian Financial Review masthead.
"The BRW brand remains a valued part of our Business Media portfolio and has considerable strength in the market," Mr Aylmer said.
"We are committed to operating all our business media titles to their full potential and leveraging the power of the AFR masthead."
Mr Aymler said brw.com.au would continue as a free website, in contrast to the company's move to impose paywalls on its The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age websites.
The move follows Fairfax's announcement last week that it would cut 45 staff through the merger of business reporting across three newspapers and the closure of glossy magazine inserts.
Fairfax is seeking voluntary redundancies from 25 business media staff and 20 employees from the News Media and Life Media magazine section.
Mr Aymler said BRW staff were able to participate in the voluntary redundancy program.
