Despite Thanksgiving and the beginning of the holiday season in the US last week, High Wycombe-based FBR has remained on schedule.
The Mike Pivac-led robotic technology company told the market on Monday it had completed the ninth home as part of its 10-home US demonstration program with potential joint venture partner, CRH Ventures.
This home was located in the emerging planned community of Babcock Ranch, America’s inaugural entirely solar-powered town, located near Fort Myers in south-west Florida.
Last week, Mr Pivac said work was to begin on the ninth home, off the back of the company’s building and construction robot unit, dubbed Hadrian X, being able to lay around 350 concrete blocks per hour – a feat which has the potential to change the house construction industry.
FBR is now within touching distance of completing the US-based program, which it began on September 10.
Once the program has been completed, CRH will have 45 calendar days to determine whether it wishes to proceed into a JV with FBR.
“Receiving engineering sign-off for the penultimate home of our demonstration program in Florida, and the final home that FBR was responsible for contracting is an important milestone in our US market entry,” Mr Pivac said.
“Particularly pleasing has been the increased cadence with which the most recent builds have been completed, further highlighting the competitive advantage our technology provides us.
“It has been a pleasure working with the New Century USA team, and I would like to thank them for joining us on our journey, and we look forward to working together in the future.
“Our focus is now firmly on the completion of the final home of the demonstration program with CRH and we will provide further updates as appropriate.”
FBR shares last changed hands at 3.7 cents, down 3 per cent, as of 11.22am WST.
