The Western Australia-based mining company was rewarded for its excellence in a number of areas including exploration, mining, community engagement and environment performance.
Northern Star recently continued boosting its growth by acquiring the Plutonic, Kanowna Belle and East Kundana Joint Venture gold projects from Barrick Gold.
The acquisitions will make it the fifth largest ASX-listed gold producer.
Company managing director Bill Beament, the Business News 40under40 First Amongst Equals winner in 2013, said he was proud the company’s work was recognised with a prestigious award.
The conference was organised by Vertical Events and held at The Esplanade Hotel Fremantle – by Ridges.
Vertical Events managing director Stuart McDonald said Northern Star deserved the award.
“Northern Star Resources has made significant contributions to the resources industry and it is only fitting that they are the recipients of this year’s award,” he said.
Other nominees for the award included Beadell Resources, BC Iron, Doray Minerals, Gindalbie Metals, Phoenix Gold, Regis Resources, Sandfire Resources and Toro Energy.
