Cockburn mayor quits but will re-run

COCKBURN council mayor Stephen Lee heeded a state government request for his resignation, but vowed to contest the mayoral election in March. Deputy mayor Kevin Allen assumed mayoral duties until the elections, which are scheduled for March 5.
