Dr Simon Dominy will be resigning as the UK-based non-executive director of Artemis Resources on 9 January 2024.
Carnarvon Energy has appointed Russell Delroy and Will Barker as non-executive directors, with Adrian Cook retiring as managing director & chief executive and Debra Bakker retiring as non-executive director. As part of the board changes, the chief executive and chief operating officer roles will be merged, with Philip Huizenga being appointed into the new CEO role. Mr Delroy, founder and managing director of Nero Resource Fund (a large shareholder of the company), has over 20 years of experience in funds management, corporate finance and executive management. Mr Barker, the founder and executive director of Western Gas, is a geologist with more than 20 years of experience in exploration and development of large-scale resource projects within Australia and internationally.
Kaiser Reef has appointed Brad Valiukas as an executive director. Mr Valiukas is a mining engineer with 25 years of operational, management and executive experience, covering underground and open pit operations across multiple commodities around Australia and internationally. He also has extensive underground experience including narrow vein gold and airleg operations, with multiple mine start-ups and rectifications completed.
After 9 years on the board, Dr Megan Clark has stepped down as non-executive director of Rio Tinto.
Dr Ben Cole has resigned as executive director of Wide Open Agriculture but remains on the board as a non-executive director. He will continue to focus on strategy, risk and governance issues as the company enters its new phase of growth.
