The Australian market has opened lower, with most sectors in the red following a flat US lead, but local shares remain above the psychologically important 6,000 point mark.At 1030 AEDT on Wednesday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was down 0.2 per cent at 6002.4 points.
