ECU is on its way to complete its goal to appoint more than 20 professors from around the world to increase its research activity, with the appointment of its 18th professor, Michelle Colgrave. She has a joint appointment at CSRIO in the field of proteomics. At ECU Professor Colgrave will expand her research in proteomics in grain and other areas of agriculture and food science.
Rob Bransby has been appointed chairman of food and agriculture business Craig Mostyn Group. He is replacing Jim Kennedy who was chairman at the company for 11 years. Mr Bransby has been managing director of HBF since 2008 after being appointed chief executive in 2007 and general manager in 2005. Before working at HBF, Mr Bransby worked in the banking industry.
Sarah Pettit has been recruited by Strategic Human Resources as the Business Migration Principal Consultant to lead the company’s team of registered migration agents across the country. Ms Pettit previously worked as PwC’s immigration senior manager. She has been a registered migration agent in the oil, gas and resources sectors for 10 years.
Communications consultancy Cannings Purple has appointed experienced consultant Peter Kermode to its Investor Relations and Capital Markets team. Mr Kermode has in-house experience at BHP, Chevron and Woodside and also with listed property group Mirvac. He was previously a senior media adviser with the Department of Premier and Cabinet, and has journalist credentials with Business News, the Australian Financial Review and The West Australian. Cannings Purple has also announced the promotion of Tim Grey-Smith to an associate director position within the Government Relations team.
Churchill Consulting has appointed Brian Adams as a principal consultant. With over 25 years of corporate strategy, digitisation and operational experience, Mr Adams was most recently chief operations officer with BMW Financial Services. He previously worked with WorleyParsons, EY and Snowden.
Kate Longhurst has commenced as director of Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, WA State Office, replacing the Andrea Gleason. She comes from a decade long tenure with the Australian Department in Canberra, and also previously worked with the US Department of State in Washington DC.
