$A rises despite S&P Spanish rating cut

The Australian dollar continued its climb above parity, after a tumultuous night offshore when ratings agency Standard and Poor's cut its credit rating for Spain.At 1700 AEDT the local unit was trading at 102.22 US cents, up from 101.89 cents yesterday.
