Gold and nickel explorer Metal Hawk says RC drilling at its Berehaven project, about 25km south-east of Kalgoorlie, has extended the Torana prospect's target zone after hitting new zones of disseminated nickel sulphides. The open strike length of the targeted ultramafic unit now extends to almost 1km and downhole electromagnetic surveys are underway to refine targets for more drilling.

Mineral explorer Metal Hawk has commenced a 3000m RC drill campaign aimed at nickel sulphide targets at the company's Berehaven nickel-gold project near Kalgoorlie in WA. The program is designed to test multiple zones with nickel sulphide potential across the project area including four new electromagnetic conductors within 5km of last year's notable Commodore nickel discovery.

Metal Hawk will drill test a strong downhole electromagnetic conductor that may be harbouring disseminated nickel sulphide mineralisation at its Torana prospect. The target is a mere 200m from a recently plunged hole that returned 10m at 0.55 per cent nickel from 130m and is part of the company's larger Berehaven project near Kalgoorlie in WA.

Metal Hawk has launched a diamond drilling program at its Kanowna East project in the West Australian Goldfields region as it looks to chase up a raft of shallow nickel hits struck by a previous explorer. The multi-hole campaign will be steered by JV partner IGO and will test southern extensions of the nearby Silver Swan nickel sulphide deposit.

Metal Hawk's dominant partner IGO Limited will inject another $4 million into the duo's Goldfields joint venture nickel operation. The stage 2 earn-in deal will give IGO an additional 24 per cent stake in the partnership. After spending $3 million at stage 1, the latest move will lift IGO's interest from 51 per cent to 75 per cent.
