He was a solicitor at law firms Dwyer Durack and Herbert Smith Freehills before joining Odyssey Group as a general manager in January 2016. 17 months later, he became chief executive with responsibilities for establishing the company’s strategic direction and ensuring that it meets its performance and strategic objectives. Mr van der Spuy has implemented various initiatives that allowed Odyssey to streamline its operations, improve profitability in line with changing market conditions, and diversify its workforce.
