Vanessa Elliott is a Jaru woman from the Kimberley region of Western Australia, with cultural connections to the central and western desert.
Ms Elliott has extensive experience in mining, energy and primary industries as a government and community relations lead, and as an independent consultant. She has been involved in economic development, community services, regional and remote project management, town planning, and service commissioning for over 20 years.
Ms Elliott has been appointed by the Australian Government to the board of the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility (NAIF) in July 2023. NAIF is a development financier that provides financial assistance to infrastructure projects in northern Australia to drive public benefit, economic and population growth, and materially improve the lives of First Nations people.
