WA agribusiness and Pemberton avocado orchard developer, Alterra Ltd's shareholder register has been fortified following the sale of a block of shares by its former chairman. Existing major Alterra shareholder, Sandon Capital and fellow major shareholders, Emanuel Exports and the Daws family, who came on board six months ago, have stepped up to the plate to boost their holdings to 22.2 per cent and 19.95 per cent, respectively.

ASX-listed Agribusiness developer, Alterra Limited, has appointed corporate communications and financial markets specialist, John McGlue to its board. McGlue is the Principal of capital markets and shareholder advisory firm, Castle Gates Australia. In 2002, Mr McGlue acquired a 50% interest in financial PR firm Porter Novelli Perth and in 2008, the combined business was acquired by NYSE-listed FTI Consulting.

ASX-listed agricultural asset development firm Alterra, has entered into some potentially lucrative agreements that secure exclusive rights to access quantitative avocado data with Western Australian producer, French's Group. Alterra will have access to genetic information from avocados that have been selectively produced over the past 33 years and use the science behind the fruit to optimise soil, water and nutrient use in under-utilised agricultural lands.
