Tim has been an active member of the minerals industry since graduating from the University of Melbourne in 1992. In the 1990's, he was extensively involved in both exploration and mining in the Yilgarn Craton of Western Australia, primarily within the gold sector but also involved in exploration for nickel and VMS hosted copper-zinc mineralisation. In 2001 Tim co-founded Exploration and Mining Information Systems (EMIS) with close friend and fellow geologist, Adam McKay. The business quickly grew providing exploration, management and data services to the minerals industry. EMIS has provided services to a range of clients across the industry including Anglogold, Anglo American, BHP, the Creasy Group as well as a large number of junior explorers, such as Atlas Iron (then Atlas Gold) and Sandfire Resources when both companies were in their infancy.
