Sue Wilson has an extensive career in corporate governance and law, and in senior leadership roles.
Ms Wilson became the general counsel and company secretary of Sierra Rutile in August 2022. Prior to that, she was the general counsel & company secretary of Iluka Resources; head of company secretariat at South32; general counsel, company secretary and a member of the executive teams at Bankwest and HBOS Australia; and a partner of law firm Parker and Parker (now part of Herbert Smith Freehills).
Ms Wilson also served two periods as a non-executive director of Western Power, from 2003-2006 and from 2012-2015. She was a member of the council of Curtin University for seven years, including five years as Pro Chancellor (deputy chair); and former chair of the WA State Council of the Governance Institute of Australia.
Ms Wilson became a part of Amana Living since joining the board since 2017. She has been deputy chair since September 2019, and is also the chair of the governance subcommittee which is responsible for overseeing the leadership of Amana Living. In mid-October 2021, Ms Wilson became the first woman to be appointed as chair.
Ms Wilson holds a Bachelor of Jurisprudence and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Australia. She is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Governance Institute of Australia, and International Chartered Secretaries Association.
In 2021, she was awarded an honorary doctorate by Curtin University for her contribution to Curtin and the WA business community in the areas of corporate leadership and governance.
