Steven Michael has over 25 years of experience in the resources industry, in senior executive leadership roles with ASX-listed mining & exploration companies and investment banking, and in corporate advisory and equities research positions with several global investment banks.
Prior to becoming the managing director and chief executive of Red Hawk Mining (formerly Flinders Mines) in March 2023, Mr Michael was the managing director of ASX-listed uranium company Vimy Resources, which culminated in the successful $658 million merger with Deep Yellow where Mr Michael subsequently served as its executive director. Prior to Vimy Resources and Deep Yellow, he was the managing director of global business advisory firm FTI Consulting where he specialised in economic evaluations, feasibility studies and project financing of mining projects across multiple commodities and jurisdictions. He also spent over 15 years in natural resources with RBC Capital Markets, Macquarie Bank and NM Rothschild & Sons.
Mr Michael is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
