Shirley Feng graduated from the Australian National University in 2010 and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2012.
She completed her articles and practised with a well-established Western Australian law firm in the areas of commercial litigation and dispute resolution before joining Civic Legal as a senior associate in March 2023.
Ms Feng has appeared as counsel and acted as instructing solicitor in contested matters before the Federal Court of Australia, the Supreme Court and District Court of WA. She has experience in contract and property disputes, contested probate and estate administration, family provision claims, claims in misleading and deceptive conduct, negligence and breach of duties and associated recovery actions.
Ms Feng also has a particular interest in Native Title law and regularly represents and advises Native Title claim groups, Aboriginal corporations and Registered Native Title Bodies Corporate on a range of issues including land access, compensation, heritage matters and future act conferences before the National Native Title Tribunal. She works closely with various indigenous and non-for-profit groups to advise on governance structures, constitutions, policies and community consultation, and authorisation meetings.
