
Sara Macliver is one of Australia’s most popular and versatile artists, and is regarded as one of the leading exponents of Baroque repertoire. She is a regular performer with all of the Australian symphony orchestras; at the Perth, Melbourne and Sydney Festivals; Pinchgut Opera; the Australian Chamber Orchestra and Australian Brandenburg Orchestra; Musica Viva; and other international companies. Dr Macliver has sung with the Sydney, Melbourne and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras, West Australian Opera, the Australian String Quartet, Auckland Philharmonic, Australia Ensemble, Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, Australian Haydn Ensemble, St George’s Cathedral, Sydney Philharmonia Choirs, Southern Cross soloists, and with the Bangalow Festival. She has been awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Western Australia and records for ABC Classics with more than 35 CDs and many awards to her credit. A passionate supporter of musical education, Dr Macliver has worked extensively as a vocal teacher and run numerous masterclasses throughout the country. She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate performance practice at the University of WA, with many of her students embarking on high-profile careers.
