Rhonda Marriott AM is a descendent of Kimberley Nyikina Aboriginal people.
In December 2017, she celebrated 50 years of being a nurse.
In 2019, she celebrated 30 years in academia. A senior researcher with expertise in Aboriginal maternal and child health at Murdoch University, Ms Marriott is the research director of Ngangk Yira at Murdoch University Research Centre for Aboriginal Health, and pro vice chancellor for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Leadership.
In 2020, she was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to tertiary education, to Indigenous health, and to nursing.
