
Philip Helberg is an engineering and construction professional with over 25 years experience in the planning, delivery, operation and maintenance of buildings and infrastructure. He has diverse experience across the public and private sectors in South Africa and Australia, and overseen annual infrastructure programs in excess of $1 billion. Mr Helberg has been the deputy director general of buildings and contracts at the Department of Finance since January 2020, where he led building management & works and the strategic projects arm of the agency, driving significant sector-wide reforms in infrastructure planning and development. He became chief executive of Infrastructure WA in August 2020, and will focus on providing expert infrastructure advice to the Premier and State Government on the planning and implementation of infrastructure priorities and initiatives.
