Peter Metcalfe grew up in the UK and studied Politics and Parliamentary Studies at the University of Leeds before moving to Western Australia in 2001.
Mr Metcalfe is the general manager of government relations at Woodside Energy, a role he has held since June 2017. He was previously a director of upstream external affairs at BP Australia, where he worked for 16 years.
Mr Metcalfe is a board director of Co3 Australia, the contemporary dance company of WA, and a member of the Animal Ethics Committee at Curtin University. He was chair of Deckchair Theatre Company from 2004 to 2006, and chair of the Perth Zoological Parks Authority from July 2005 to August 2011.
