Adriatic Metals is continuing to score goals at its Vares silver project, extending known mineralisation whilst pressing to identify more resources from its prospective tenements in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Budding silver miner Adriatic Metals has drawn down its second $30m tranche, along with accessing an additional $22.5m from a $142.5m debt package to steer development of its high-grade Vares silver mine in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is all systems go as the company passes the halfway mark of construction with production of the first concentrate slated for the third quarter of 2023.

Adriatic Metals has unearthed another batch of thick, high-grade massive sulphide mineralisation at its Rupice Northwest orebody - an extension of its Rupice multi-commodity deposit in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Diamond drilling at the site returned a broad 45.9 metre hit going 701 grams per tonne silver equivalent about 225m north-west of the company's 12 million tonne resource grading 149 g/t silver, 1.4 g/t gold and 4.1 per cent zinc.

Balkans-focused mineral explorer Adriatic Metals has delivered another swag of high-grade base metal intercepts from an ongoing extensional drilling campaign at the company's Vares silver operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The current campaign is designed to confirm whether high-grade mineralisation at the project's existing resource, Rupice, continues along strike to the north-west in an area recently predictably coined Rupice Northwest.

The deal, which includes an equity raising of US$100 million, signals a major step in the advancement of the project which is still subject to delivery of a definitive feasibility study.

ASX-listed Adriatic Metals can now move on to the urban planning permit phase of the approvals process for its Veovaca precious and base metals deposit after Bosnia's Federal Government signed off on the environmental permit, removing a key hurdle on the pathway to production. The permit covers the Veovaca mine, plant and tailings facility.

Adriatic Metals has extended its Rupice high-grade poly metallic deposit in Bosnia another 20 metres at depth with a stellar intercept over nearly 9 metres running at 2.4g/t gold, 398g/t silver, 1.79% zinc, 3.16% lead, 0.35% copper and 45% barite from 368.5m down hole. The company said that this is the deepest massive sulphide intercept at the southern end of Rupice.

After navigating a plethora of Bosnian statutory approval labyrinths, Adriatic Metals is nearing the end of the maze after receiving a coveted and positive “record of decision”, or “RoD” from the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism for its Veovaca Environmental Permit which is one of the key approvals required for an Exploitation Permit to be finally issued. The company said the RoD is final and cannot be challenged, which means that the Exploitation Permit theoretically should be forthcoming soon.

Adriatic Metals has identified a number of new multi-metal exploration drill targets after modelling historical gravity data over its Bosnian license that includes its Rupice and Jurasevac-Brestic prospects. Some of the geophysical anomalies are adjacent to known discoveries and are ready for immediate drilling with a total of 29 drill pads approved for action to further define the extraordinary multi-metal deposits within its project area.

Adriatic Metals has secured full clarity on its mineral rights and royalty arrangements at the massive Vares polymetallic project in Bosnia & Herzegovina by successfully negotiating for the inclusion of gold, silver and copper in an update to its concession agreement. Whilst not entirely clear, the original concession agreement only referred to lead, zinc and barite. The requirement to commence mining by May 2020 has also been removed.

Dual-listed Adriatic Metals was always going to have a problem at its Vares multi-metals project in Bosnia – but it is a nice problem to have. With such a smorgasbord of different high-grade minerals present at Vares, Adriatic's biggest problem is working out which metals will lead the project economics, which will be mere credits and which ones will gel together well metallurgically to produce highly payable concentrates.

Adriatic Metals' confidence that it can grow its spectacular high grade polymetallic Rupice prospect in central Bosnia even further has received a boost after two new assays indicated the area's mineralisation is larger than previously thought. Results from one of the two holes testing Rupice's southern extensions returned 16 metres at 1.96 grams/tonne gold, 350g/t silver, 5.3% zinc, 3.4% lead, 0.5% copper and 43% barite from 330m.

Adriatic Metals has found a silver lining at its brownfields, zinc-heavy polymetallic Vares project in central Bosnia and Herzegovina - particularly at the Rupice target, where recent drilling returned an intercept of 6 metres at an impressive 1,019 grams per tonne silver, 11.3g/t gold, 13.1% zinc, 12.5% lead and 1.3% copper from a depth of 238m. Rupice's mineralised strike length is now over 500m long.

Adriatic Metals has tabled a lovely set of numbers for its poly-metallic Vareš project in Bosnia with the ASX-listed company saying that its new scoping study shows a stunning, AUD$1.37b net present value for the zinc-silver-lead-gold-barite project. Amazingly, payback of the AUD$260m CAPEX is expected to be just eight months after commencement of processing with the project showing a very respectable post-tax internal rate of return of 107.4%.

Adriatic Metals has raised $25m via a two-tranche institutional placement to expedite an aggressive exploration program through to a BFS at its exciting, Vareš multi-metals project in Bosnia. The company is also seeking a secondary listing of its shares on the London Stock Exchange during the current quarter to capture further interest from UK and European investors that are looking to support the world-class, high-grade project.

Adriatic has tabled encouraging metallurgical test work results from its impressive Vareš multi-metals project in Bosnia. Initial findings indicate metal recoveries and concentrate grades that exceed specifications, with the ores potentially amenable to smelting. The results will be fed directly into a scoping study and will underpin a future DFS for the high-grade project.
