
Patrick Allaway has extensive experience in financial services, and held senior executive and non-executive director roles in large multinational companies including Swiss Bank Corporation and Citibank. Key areas of expertise include commercial experience, capital markets, business acquisitions and divestments, business review and strategic development.
Mr Allaway's 30-year career in investment banking has seen him hold positions with Swiss Bank Corporation in Chicago, Zurich and London, and also with Citibank in New York, Sydney and London. He was managing director of Swiss Bank Capital Markets and Treasury with responsibility for over 1,000 people in 16 countries.
For over 12 years, Mr Allaway was chair and co-founder of a privately-owned boutique corporate advisory business, Saltbush Capital Markets, advising select ASX-listed companies.
He was non-executive director of Macquarie Goodman until 2006 and interim chair of its audit committee, chair of Giant Steps Endowment Fund, and director of the Sydney University Football Club Foundation.
Mr Allaway was chair of the Bank of Queensland from October 2019 until his appointment as chief executive and managing director in March 2023.
