Morné Engelbrecht is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of experience in the oil, gas and resource sectors across various jurisdictions including Australia, South Africa, UK, Papua New Guinea and China. He has extensive experience in strategy and planning, debt and equity markets, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture management and operations.
Mr Engelbrecht joined Beach Energy in 2016 as chief financial officer before becoming acting chief executive in November 2021 and formally appointed chief executive from May 2022 to May 2023. Prior to that, he was the chief executive of ASX-listed Carbon Energy and held various financial, commercial and advisory senior management positions at InterOil, Lihir Gold and PwC.
