Michael Lundberg has been a litigator in Western Australia since 1994. He has been recognised as a leading Australian commercial litigator and arbitration specialist in Best Lawyers and Doyle’s Guide.
His areas of specialty are litigation in the energy and resources sector, handling high value disputes that require strategic and often quick resolution, and acting in international arbitration matters.
Mr Lundberg commenced his career at the Crown Solicitor's Office. He then spent about 18 years at King & Wood Mallesons including as managing partner of the Perth office and head of litigation, over 3 years as partner at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, and partner in the global disputes practice of Jones Day from May 2021 to November 2022 when he became the first Aboriginal judge on the Supreme Court of Western Australia. He is the son of Dr Sue Gordon AM, Western Australia’s first Aboriginal magistrate.
Mr Lundberg has experience in most superior Courts in Australia and most arbitral institutions in the Asia Pacific region as well as in London.
