Michael Laurent is a professional engineer and senior executive with over 25 years of international oil & gas experience. He has extensive expertise in reservoir, drilling, facilities, production optimisation, and operations with particular emphasis on resource and business development.
Mr Laurent also has an extensive understanding of the petroleum industry, having started his career with service companies and then progressing to energy producers including Encana Corporation, Murphy Oil, Santos
and Armour Energy. He joined Armour Energy in June 2019 as the general manager for development before becoming chief operating officer in July 2020, where he provided leadership and direction across all exploration and development efforts and assumed responsibility for site operations and Environmental Health and Safety. Mr Laurent became chief operating officer of Black Mountain Energy in November 2022.
