A new round of aircore drilling has nailed the widest gold intersection yet just 8kms from Regis Resources' Garden Well mill, with a 17-metre hit grading 1.4 grams per tonne from just 20 metres.

Great Southern Mining has its sights set on a maiden gold resource with a new drill campaign at the company's Golden Boulder prospect, an exciting sub-set of its Duketon gold project in the Eastern Goldfields. The 7000-metre RC program is aiming to carve out a maiden resource in the north of Golden Boulder where previous drilling defined 650m of semi-contiguous gold mineralisation.

Great Southern Mining has assayed 3m at 2.55g/t gold from 33m, including 1m at 6.48g/t gold, in the final results from a February RC drilling program at its Golden Boulder East trend at its Duketon project in WA. The hole included a separate 2m hit going 1.81g/t gold from 42m. A second hole probed 1m assaying 1.02g/t gold from 53m and 2m at 1.42g/t gold from 60m.

Great Southern Mining has jagged high-grade gold with an eye-opening intercept of 1 metre grading 70.94 grams per tonne gold within a 5m section of 14.57g/t gold from 41m at its Duketon gold project in WA's Eastern Goldfields. The company's 3678-metre reverse circulation drilling campaign to test earlier identified shallow mineralisation kicked off in January and is now complete.

Great Southern Mining and Gold Fields Limited have identified a second large-scale induced polarisation (IP) target at their Edinburgh Park gold and copper project in northern Queensland. The newly discovered Mt Dillon target follows a previous IP anomaly at Leichhardt Creek, located 10km northwest. The latest find reinforces the potential for significant mineralization within the jointly owned exploration area.

Great Southern Mining has kicked off an RC drilling campaign at its Duketon gold project, which spans 178 square kilometres within 13 virtually contiguous leases in Western Australia's Eastern Goldfields. The program has been designed to unlock the full potential of its promising Golden Boulder prospect which previously produced some impressive results before the rig is moved onto several other high-priority targets.

Gold Fields Ltd and a number of financial institutions in addition to management and directors of Great Southern Mining have all piled into a $2.5m capital raise that will see Great Southern fire up its WA gold search. $153,000 was committed to by Great Southern directors and management subject to shareholder approval at a general meeting early next year, in the placement priced at 1.7c.

Great Southern Mining and Gold Fields Ltd have found a huge, 2km-wide induced polarisation target, potentially a big porphyry gold-copper system, lurking at their Edinburgh Park project in Queensland. The buried structural geological feature is coincident with a grab bag of other exciting geological indicators including positive soil samples, rock chips going over 10 g/t gold and sulphides outcropping at surface.
