Marshall Allen began his investment banking career in the 1991 UK recession working on UK Leveraged and Acquisition Financing including steering committees of poorly structured and over-geared buyouts of the 1980s as well as some of the most successful buyouts of the 1990s.
Subsequently he has held senior positions with Deutsche Bank, Société Générale and Credit Agricole Lazard Financial Products across Sydney, Singapore and Hong Kong before returning to Perth with ANZ Private Equity in 2004 to restart their private equity business.
In 2007 he co-founded Viburnum Funds with Craig Coleman and the initial backing of the Wyllie Group. Viburnum manages funds across two complementary Public and Private Strategies with a common thread of “active ownership”.
Up until his retirement, Mr Allen led Viburnum's Private Strategy as Managing Partner, Private Equity.
He is a member of the UWA Business School Advisory Board and Chairs the UWA Centre for Business Data Analytics Advisory Board.
Mr Allen has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of WA and an MBA from Cornell University.
