Malcolm Carson was a highly experienced geologist with over 40 years of experience in the resources sector, and in the evaluation of mineral resources and mineral project funding.
Mr Carson commenced his career as an exploration project geologist and worked in a range of commodities including iron ore. He held various senior exploration and mine management, director and chief executive positions during his career in the mining industry, including in ASX- and TSX-listed companies. He was responsible for supervising early exploration which has led to a number of mineral resource discoveries and the development of gold, coal and nickel mines and major discoveries of iron ore and copper yet to be developed.
Mr Carson held a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Master of Science in Resources from the University of WA. He was a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Australian Institute of Geoscientists.
Mr Carson had been fighting cancer for a number of years. He passed away in February 2022.
