Malcolm Azzopardi has over 15 years of experience in the mining services sector. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
Mr Azzopardi joined Western Plant Hire in February 2011 as a financial controller and partner before becoming chief financial officer in February 2015 and director of WPH Equipment Sales in July 2017. Mr Azzopardi is responsible for formulating and implementing strategic initiatives to enable the company to profitably achieve its growth objectives. He leads the finance, procurement, human resources, HSE, IT and administration functions. Mr Azzopardi is also a director and company secretary of the Barrooghumba WPH JV. In November 2020, Mr Azzopardi participated in a management buy-out of Western Plant Hire.
