Professor Kingsley Dixon AO, a renowned botanist and Western Australia’s 2016 Scientist of the Year, was appointed to the Lotterywest Board in December 2017. Throughout his career, Prof Dixon has played a leading role in conserving threatened species and transforming ecological restoration practice in Australia.
Holding a Bachelor of Science (Honours) and a PhD from the University of Western Australia, Prof Dixon is also a board member of the International Society for Ecological Restoration, chair of The Society for Ecological Restoration Australasia, co-chair of the Orchid Specialist Group, and sits on several other committees and advisory panels.
In 2023, Prof Dixon was awarded an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to conservation biology, particularly ecological research and restoration, and to tertiary education.
