Kelly Howlett AM was Mayor of the Town of Port Hedland from October 2009 to August 2016. She was the second female and the youngest ever mayor of the Town of Port Hedland, and the youngest mayor in Western Australia.
Ms Howlett was inducted into the WA Women’s Hall of Fame in March 2018 in recognition of her lengthy contribution to the Pilbara environment and community. She has extensive governance experience and a keen interest in the social, natural environment and sustainability.
Ms Howlett has a Bachelor of Science (Environment), Bachelor Forest Science (Honours), and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Program.
In 2023, she was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to local government, and to the community of Port Hedland.
