A trip to the Mines Department appears to have paid off in spades for Kingwest Resources who has unearthed a treasure trove of lucrative looking historical face sample results taken along development drives and rises at its Menzies project. The results from 1924, show some amazing grades along the faces such as 22.3g/t gold over 31m of development at an average sampled width of 2.1m.

Ironbark Zinc has appointed Michael Jardine to drive its zinc-lead project in Greenland from the Managing Director's chair. Mr Jardine has a technical background in a range of industries including corporate development in mining and investment banking and looks well placed to take the helm at Ironbark. Former M.D and Ironbark prime mover Jonathon Downes will stay on as a Non-exec director.

Ironbark Zinc's proposed, scaled-back 1Mtpa Stage I development of its Citronen base metals project in northern Greenland will benefit from head grades of up to 10.4% zinc/lead during the first year of operation. The company plans to lower the upfront capital costs for the project by targeting the shallow high-grade Beach Zone mineralisation, while still allowing for an expansion to the original feasibility study output of 3.3Mtpa in Stage II.

Ironbark Zinc has applied for two new exploration licences covering 400 square kilometres that may host potential extensions of its giant Citronen zinc project in Greenland. The licences cover mineralised outcropping gossans over an extensive region on the interpreted source fault that aligns with the trend of the broad Citronen ore system.

Ironbark Zinc has kicked off a helicopter-borne electromagnetic survey to gain a better understanding of the large-scale Jerangle prospect at its Captains Flat multi-element project in New South Wales. Earlier drilling by the company returned significant base metal intercepts such as 4.4m @ 12.05% zinc , which follows up on historic drill results.

Ironbark Zinc has signed a memorandum of understanding with industrial machinery company Metso Sweden for the provision of services and equipment at the giant Citronen zinc project in Greenland. The agreement also enables Metso to commence engineering tasks that are required before the completion of detailed engineering of processing equipment, which includes providing technical specifications for third party equipment.

ASX listed Ironbark Zinc has moved to prove up the viability of shipping ore from its Citronen zinc project in Greenland following the arrival of the contracted Nunavik icebreaking cargo ship at the site in the country's north. The ease with which the Nunavik achieved this goal has increased the company's confidence in being able to operate the project as a regular mine despite its relatively remote location.

Ironbark Zinc has received expressions of interests from financiers who are looking to move towards more formal discussions about possibly financing the company's giant Citronen Zinc project. The expressions of interest came after Ironbark management wrapped up a series of site visits to Citronen with interested parties. The company has also started preliminary site works at the project in anticipation of a positive outcome.

ASX listed Ironbark Zinc has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Byrnecut Offshore for the provision of underground contract mining services and underground mine cost modelling for the Citronen zinc project in Greenland. Byrnecut will also provide the underground mining fleet, hold the debt and security over the equipment and assist with the company's training and employment obligations.

Ironbark Zinc's Citronen project is rapidly moving from the drawing board to ground-breaking reality as the Perth-based company prepares to ship equipment to Greenland during the northern hemisphere summer. Landed cargoes, scheduled for mid-August, will trigger the start of the mine construction phase aimed at fulfilling the production potential of one the largest undeveloped zinc projects in the world.
