John Silverthorne has over 40 years experience in the earthmoving and resources industries and is currently executive director of VCS Civil and Mining. He has managed a variety of small and large projects in both the public and private sectors, including 28 years experience in the civil contracting and mining services industries. John was a founding partner at NRW Holdings in 1994 and remained an executive director until its float on the ASX in 2007. Mr Silverthorne was also an integral part in establishing two very successful Aboriginal joint ventures with the major mining companies in the Pilbara. Most recently he has been on the board of Viento Group and was also a director of Brisbane-based Hughes Drilling from 2013 to 2016, quitting in July.
