John Poulsen is the principal of People, Passion & Performance and provides guidance on leadership, cultural change and building mentally healthy workplaces.
Mr Poulsen was the Australian managing partner of Squire Patton Boggs, a member of the global board, and is recognised as a leading finance and commercial lawyer in Australia. Mr Poulsen also had many years’ experience acting for project sponsors (such as Alcoa, Portman Mining, Jinchuan and others) in project finance transactions such as the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline, the Koolyanobbing Iron Ore project, the Burton Coal project and the Munali Nickel project in Zambia. He has considerable experience in securitisation of different types of receivables and asset finance transactions.
Mr Poulsen is a member of the Leukaemia Foundation advisory board and the Tristan Jepson Memorial Foundation advisory board, a board member of the International Skills & Training Institute in Health and 12 Buckets, a member of the Murdoch University School of Law's external advisory board, chair of Perth International Cabaret Festival, and a board member of Boatrocker Brewery and Distillery. He was state president of Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA) WA and a member of the National Board of CEDA from 2004 to 2011. He is now a CEDA Honorary Trustee for life in acknowledgement of his contribution over the years. Mr Poulsen was deputy chair of Volunteering WA from 2009 to 2015, and a member of the Serco Asia Pacific advisory board from 2013 to 2016.
