Aspiring rare earths metals producer, Greenland Minerals, is nearing completion of a major milestone in its ongoing technical development of the giant Kvanefjeld rare earths project in southern Greenland. The culmination of work on the company's environmental impact assessment is looming with Greenland's Environmental Agency for Mineral Resource Activities providing a pathway for the Perth company to finalise the approval.

Greenland Minerals' optimisation study has successfully reduced the capital cost of its giant Kvanefjeld rare earth project in southern Greenland by almost 40% to USD$505 million. This is partly due to the development of an optimised flotation circuit that can produce a concentrate with grades of at least 22% REO, which allows the scale of refinery circuit and the size of processing equipment to be reduced.

Greenland Minerals has outlined major improvements at its massive Kvanefjeld project in southern Greenland, including an impressive 8% increase in rare earth recoveries to 94%, compared with its 2016 Feasibility Study metrics. The work will lead to an increase of USD$31m per annum in revenue, based on the current basket prices for REO and provide attractive margins on production, while seriously reducing OPEX costs for the project.

Greenland Minerals has completed an optimised design for its proposed port facility to service the massive Kvanefjeld rare earths project in southern Greenland, allowing capital costs to be updated. The work by PND Engineers and China Communications Construction Co follows a revised design for the project's plant and infrastructure delivered in late 2018 by Tetra Tech, which dramatically reduced civil earth working costs.

Rare earth element developer Greenland Minerals has flagged a substantial reduction in the capital costs for civil earth works at its huge Kvanefjeld rare earth element project located on the southern tip of Greenland. An engineering review has optimised the process plant and site infrastructure ground footprint at the proposed mine, reducing the volume of material disturbance by 80% from previous estimates.

Greenland Minerals has executed an MoU with major shareholder, Chinese global rare earths player Shenghe, to develop the flagship Kvanefjeld project in Greenland. Greenland Minerals and Energy is inching closer to commencing building its rare earths pilot plant in Greenland after major Chinese shareholder and technical partner, Shenghe, said it will shortly select the best flotation circuit for the project, clearing the way for pilot plant operations to begin. Greenland has already produced mineral concentrates with grades approaching 25% rare earth oxides.

The election of a new pro-mining Government in Greenland might just be the enabler required for Greenland Minerals to fast track its massive rare earths and uranium project into production. The incoming Government has specifically expressed its support for developing Greenland's rare earths and uranium riches, the largest and most advanced owner of which is Perth based Greenland Minerals.

Greenland Minerals has announced a significant upgrade in its rare earth concentration grade to nearly 25% REO for the massive Kvanefjeld rare earths project in Greenland. Metallurgical test work results open up the option of direct shipping of high value concentrate, whilst lowering the operating and capital costs. The value of the concentrate per kilogram of REO exceeds commercial base metal concentrates.

Greenland Minerals has announced it will complete its Environmental and Social Impact Assessments for the flagship Kvanefjeld rare earths project in southern Greenland by June, paving the way for it to mine the world's largest rare earths deposit. The Perth based company revealed this week that it has been working hand in glove with the Greenland Government to make the project happen.

Greenland Minerals and Energy is manoeuvring itself to be one of the world's largest suppliers of rare earth minerals outside of China. The company is looking to ride the clean energy wave with its elephant sized rare earths play in Greenland and it has already managed to lasso a major Chinese rare earths investor with a balance sheet worth around $4.5b.
