John Anderson, executive consultant of Deloitte Consulting since February 2018, joined Santos in 1996 as corporate counsel for the former Queensland Northern Territory Business Unit after 10 years as a solicitor with Freehills. He held a range of roles at Santos including as manager of legal and business services, group executive of business development, vice president of strategic projects and commercial. In 2009, Mr Anderson relocated to Perth to run Santos’ WA & NT operations including domestic gas and oil production in the Carnarvon Basin, exploration activity in the Browse and Bonaparte basins and the company’s first LNG project, Darwin LNG. In 2014, he moved to Singapore after his responsibilities were extended to include Santos’ Asian activities, including the company’s second LNG project, PNG LNG, as well as oil and gas production assets in Indonesia and Vietnam, and a variety of other interests including exploration opportunities in Malaysia and Bangladesh. Mr Anderson left Santos in 2017.
