Jason Clare is an Australian politician and a member of the Australian Labor Party, representing the Division of Blaxland in Western Sydney since 2007.
Mr Clare has been a member of the shadow cabinet from 2013 to 2022, under opposition leaders Bill Shorten and Anthony Albanese. He was a government minister under Julia Gillard and Kevin Rudd (2010 to 2013), as Minister for Defence Material (2010–2011, 2012–2013), Home Affairs (2011–2013), Justice (2011–2013), and Cabinet Secretary (2013). Following the ALP's victory at the 2022 federal election, Mr Clare became the Minister for Education under the Albanese government.
Mr Clare holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of New South Wales.
