Henry Jackson SC practised for 24 years as a solicitor and then a barrister in Victoria and Western Australia, before becoming a senior counsel in 2019. He was appointed a District Court judge and deputy president of State Administrative Tribunal (SAT) in January 2022.
Mr Jackson has appeared regularly before superior Courts and tribunals in Victoria and Western Australia.
He has an impressive track record in planning and environmental law, along with the associated jurisdictions of local government, land acquisition and compensation, liquor licensing, water law and public health. He has also handled other matters relevant to the SAT including disciplinary proceedings, contested guardianship, tenancy and building services complaints.
Mr Jackson is chair of the board at Francis Burt Chambers, maintains a pro bono practice for such clients as the Environmental Defenders Office and Tenancy WA, and has taught at the University of Western Australia and Murdoch University.
